GENERAL INFORMATIONS
Magnetic sensors are basically used as proximity limit switches
on pneumatic cylinders which have a magnet on their pistons.
Therefore, fastening a sensor on the external part of the
cylinder housing, it is possible to get the information relative
to the position of the piston, by an electrical contact (REED
switch) or a voltage output (MAGNETORESISTIVE chip with static
transistor output).
They can be supplied with cable output or with M8 connector.
SENSORS OPERATION PRINCIPLES
The load connected to sensor must respect the electrical limits
of the device.
The functioning principles are the following:
REED SWITCH: an electrical contact is switched by a
magnetic field. It can be supplied with both Vac and Vdc voltage.
If several sensors must be connected in series, it is recommended
to use the REED PNP version to avoid the voltage drop due
to the led indicators.
ELECTRONIC: a magneto resistive chip is a solid-state
device, therefore static (long life) with NPN (sink) or PNP
(source) output. It must be supplied only with DC voltage
(30 V max). There are no problems in case of vibrations.
